Poll Abot EULA's and your rights.

Ok I am sure you all probably know what peice of software i am thinking about but just to be certain i am not being specific as it happens with other software as well.
My issue is over your rights you have given up or back to the creator of the software upon use of the package. I find this limiting and distastful. it is a Idealogical way to hold me hostage and there is no way to fight or change it. you have agred to it and you can use the software or you dont and then you are blocked from use. I find this some what tryanical and well akin to a hostage situation in some regaurds.

any mull it over and post you thoughts. Lots of things have this besides the one that will proabably jump into your mind at first. so its not just one thing i am thinking about but the corporation ( man o man see the movie thread soon) that has placed you in a position of less then full ownership or rights of ownership.

While I hate EULA agreements, but I can see why they have them. If they did not have such agreements, then the Publisher/Developer would have almost no rights dealing with the game, just simple copyrights. So, they have to have the EULA's to make sure that they are not legally responsible, and that I am, if I do something illegal with it. Or that's my understanding of it anyway..

I am not belittling your post. but my argument is what did i buy if its only usable in one way and they wish to control behavior.

maybe i am parinoid but it has ominous overtunes to me.

I dont rember signing a EULA to play MK II :-) come on. you give them the right to control you becase you can not act for yourself ?

I find this very limiting on personal freedoms.

Does that mean that lunatics and jerks will run wild . well yeah but they will even with the EULA. only its the honest guy that gets it in the rear.

They do have property to protect and market share to increase but if a comunity is somthing that is part of the package a body of employee's should be availalbe to help with problems and resolutions. leaving people to thier own best guess really creates a grey area
