Short Fiction inspired by the lack of a Warhak backstory

Postby twistedblister » Tue Jul 08, 2008 1:22 pm

Loseley and since i dont want this to be fan fiction it will be about two simalar but not named the same waring factions. just starting now so i will try and post in chapters hopefully one a week but my life will dictate my freee time so i may need to adjust some times. it will be my own work and copyrighted to me in case some one wants a option on a movie ( yeah put the pipe down tb and move away from the crack) ha. serriously i dont want to infirnge on the warhawk copyrights and logo or name so i have to seperate my self enoguh to where this will be familar to all of you but not specific to warhawk or reference any copyrighted words or usage. :-) yeah stroy time.

short intro running behind but a bit more fleshed out couple of paragrahs then before.

We were born to fight and kill. Kill all Evishians. We are the plague and death is our joy.
Evishia will burn.
These battle cries were spray painted in dripping letters crimson like blood on the burnt and scared building wall. They cried out mutely to all passing by who could afford the luxury of stopping to look. The words the letters would fill volumes if anyone would stop and catalog all the venom and hate imprinted into all the buildings on this planet. An Idyllic malaise almost unfathomable in a time of war such as exists here between these countries. Attentions focus on the fight. Life is short and bitter. There is little downtime for abstract pleasures when bullets rip the air overhead. Questions and rationales or the meanings and truth of who and why are as meaningless in a fire fight as a computer to a elephant. Brutality for such a prolonged period has wiped all previous meaning and comparison to any other way of life. Existence reduced to its most simple. Death and destruction are the paints on the palette. This world is there are few concerns the surface is all the lake is an illusion the mind withers like cold and naked steal in a skeletal grip.
This did not mean that fundamentals were ignored. If it related to life and the potential to extinguish another it was passed on. Rites of passage were easy you learned to kill and live or you died. Reading required for understanding maps, weapons instructions, vehicle controls, commands issued, all were taught when and where possible depending on the shifting tides of the maps.

To Skrag a regular day involved blood and explosions but so did every day for everyone.
Skrag so typical of the Evishian population in that regard never let his mind stray from the central point of his existence. That existence dedicated to Kill, kill fast, kill well, and live to kill again. Did not think about the Cadashians except how best to kill or defeat them when and where possible. He cared little about their feelings or customs. Like a tooth of a gear on a wheel he functioned mechanically and smoothly. Part of the Mammoth Beast that was homogenized in its hatred of the Cadashians and their bloodlines. Wiping his nose on what was left of his left sleeve and smelling the Smokey air Skrag grunted as he ploded off towards the motor pool.

The last few days had been rewarding for the Evishians few casualties but and the motor pool and weapons store were intact. The outlying village homes and stores were less lucky as they had sustained massive collateral bombardment as well as damage from skirmish small weapons and explosives. His face gritty but full of life he stepped into the motor pool to see his assignment for the day.

His eyes were taking time to dilate to the darkness after being out in the border desert early sun. The smell of vehicle oils and exhaust fumes filled the large garage. Making Skrag choke slightly and relieving himself by spiting the charred fluid that it forced up onto the greasy floor. A scratchy corrosive laugh eminates from one corner of the garage another solider groans while the Master Sergeant barks out orders and details and assignments. Skrag rubs his face and looks around he knows these men their names or tags if you will but only knows what he needs to. No conversations drift into the realm of hopes and dreams. They usually wind up involving curses and screams as the atomic healer attempts to pump life back into body and wounded bodies. Skrag hears the sergeants words as he fills his eyes with the faces of men who may not all be standing here latter this evening. The words nudge him as he has scored on the SPUD lottery danger duty of gunning on the back of an open rat runner. No helmets no armor light hit and run vehicle modified with a 50 caliber machine gun swivel mount inches over the drivers head. Skrag throws half his morning Health ration nutritional stimulant bar into an open container and grabs a knife and an assault machine gun as Jazz pulls up gunning the rat as he does so.

just a tease taste of things to come

We were born to fight and kill. Kill all Cadashians. We are the plague and death is our joy.
Cadash will burn.
Spray paint in dripping letters crimson like blood on the burnt an scared building wall proclaim to all passersby who can afford the luxury of stopping to look. An Idyllic malaise almost unknowable in a time of war as exists here between these countries. Attentions focus on the fight. Life is short and bitter. There is little downtime for abstract pleasures when bullets rip the air overhead. Questions and rationales meanings and truth as meaningless in a fire fight as art is to a lion in the hunt.
It would have seemed accurate and ironic if Steve had not been born and had grown up in a time of war.
To Steve a regular day involved blood and explosions
Steve so typical of the Evishian population in that regard never let his mind stray from the central point of his existence. That existence dedicated to Kill, kill fast kill well and live to kill again.

Ok. ha. first thanks for the feedback. names are pain for me. i wanted a nondescript name but yeah ok i understand your thoughts and i will make that change. to another war related type of name. I usually dont share as i go and am not used to an interactive enviroment but i like the imediate feedback its like theatere where you know what works and what does not . so on that note please keep the feedback coming.

that was just a tease. I will try to post in chapter format so it may be a week between posts depending apon lots of different factors so be patient but vigalant :-)

I thiink you will like what i have in mind for SPUD. :-)

felt like crud after dinner and took sinus medication to kill the pain. did not play tongiht.

I will update when i get some work done. PS sorry about the typos i am usallay better about that when i am working but i never catch them all it seems.
