GGL rule on where communication is allowed between teams.
Match Communication: The “Match Communication” page is the official method of communication between teams for competitions. Instant messaging, Xbox Live/PSN messaging, etc. are not valid and may result in a forfeit loss. Each team is required to contact their opponent at least three (3) hours prior to the default match time. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit loss.

GGL Rule on match disputes. IE once the game is done drop off and do not engage in any argument / arangement with another team
Match Disputes: Players must provide some sort of proof (picture, video, etc.) along with their match disputes. Failure to do so may render your dispute invalid. If there is an issue before the match starts (i.e. the other team is using a ringer), contact an Administrator immediately. Choosing to continue to play the match may render the dispute invalid.

no more practice people you are live in tier 1

how many how few players are allowed in a match?
either 5 V 5 , 6 V 6 , 7 V 7 or 8 V 8
Quote:
"No they would not since the rules
state if the teams cannot agree on a match
size, it will go to the default size of 8v8.
Also, I updated the rules the other day and
the minimum amount of players allowed for a
match is 5v5. "

Match Squad Size: The two squads can agree on any squad size before the match begins (the squads can negotiate the squad size using the comments section of the “Match Details” page for their particular match). If the two squads can not agree on a squad size, the default squad size is 8v8.

I am a non US Resident am i allowed to play? can i win a prize?

Everyone can play US resident or not. Non US residents not eligable for prizes will just not be rewarded with the Knife. which i am unhappy about.

You wont get your confirm email right away depending on servers people dont panic. We are very early in signing up and have at least 2 to 3 weeks of practice time to get organized .

TS got the same issue. I am going to have to look that up. sorry for not catching that earlier. I am sending an invite to your ID for redundancy.

Honestly, I dont really know how any of this 5 v 5 ladders thing works....I read the long ass paragraph up top but im still unsure. Anyone wanna clarify?

yeah well ok the 5 v 5 is just a match. as long as we say 5 of our team wants to play 5 of yours. then just negotiate the time.

NOw if i am in a diffrent time zone then i can host another 5 v 5 as long as its not in your scheduled time.

ITS ok clouod if anyone wnats i can take some time and sort it out. bassicaly its a offer acept exchange. it keeps going round until someone agress and acepts. you can counter as offten as you like untill the time seems right to play.

only squad leaders can accpet / challange other clans on GGL PM me if you want to be a squad leader. I am thinking Far east Coast and far West coast will be good to have to more squad leaders in those time zones

Some one please make sure to keep in touch with Sackboy on ign who is KrazyKat01 on the GGL Site as he is the only one now who can accept or challange teams. IF you have a challange make sure and create a 7 day anounce ment to let everyone know to get ready. good luck. and have fun

who is supposed to hos the game. man grrrrr?
Default rule: During the Stage 1 Ladders, the squad who received the challenge will host the match. During the Stage 2 Brackets, the higher seed in the bracket will host the first map, the lower seed will host the second, and the higher seed will host the 3rd map, if necessary. Optional rule: If one of the players has an excellent connection that all of the players ping fairly to, both squads may agree to use that host for the duration of the match. The squad that received the challenge or is the higher seed still counts as host whether or not they were the agreed upon host for the purpose of choosing sides (i.e. If Team1 received the challenge but Team2 is the agreed upon host, Team2 still chooses which side to play for the first map).

rule update 5-22-08
from mod beef
Teams are allowed to be in different Warhawk Clans but may only participate as one clan on GGL. It was brought up in the forums that this conflicts with the server type which is "Player Clan". When this issue arises, players should do the following:
Create a player match and put on a password. Post the password in the Comments of the Match Communication page. If anyone is worried about other players joining and screwing up their game, that shouldn't happen with the player limit's but if it does, that player will be suspended for 2 weeks.

Beef update on size default match rule
Match Squad Size: The default match size is 8v8. However, the two squads can agree on any squad size before the match begins (5v5/6v6/7v7/8v8 only). The squads can negotiate the squad size using the comments section of the “Match Details” page for their particular match. If the two squads can not agree on a squad size due to not having enough members for 8v8, the match squad size will reflect the smallest number of players a team has ready for the match to a minimum of 5v5 (I.E. TeamX has 8 players, TeamY has 5 so they would play 5v5). Anything below 5v5 is not legal and will result in a double forfeit.

ok this affects RRB how > our default game size if no agremeant is reached is 8 V 8 since we have more then 8 registered players.

7 day rule
Currently our system does not view challenges as activity. If this issue comes up (issued challenges but went inactive) let me know and I'll verify it then give you're points back.

If you accept a match but are forced to forfeit, that will count as activity.

another rule adjust ment it seems the tier one rounds consist of 2 matches of 20 minutes wow ok i missed this

1 match would consist of 20 minutes on each side for the map selected for your match. I'll see how matches go for the next few days and make any adjustments necessary .

A password may be used as long as it's posted in the match comments.
One of the settings I will be testing this week is a 15 minute time limit instead of the current 20 minute time limit. I strongly encourage teams to scrimmage/practice against each other with a 15 minute time and give me feedback as well. DO NOT PLAY AN OFFICIAL MATCH WITH A 15 MINUTE TIME LIMIT

for now this is GGL match Definition law
Map law by MODS on GGL
Quote:
I've been getting quite a few messages about how Warhawk matches aren't being finished or scored correctly. I have clarified this below...

Both teams are required to play each side of a map once. This counts as a single map played. Which ever team has the most points after a map, wins that map.

For example:
Team1 = Red
Team2 = Blue

Map1
-Team1 = 9000 points
-Team2 = 5000 points

*Teams Switch Sides*
Team1 = Blue
Team2 = Red

Map1
-Team1 = 7000 points
-Team2 = 10000 points

Team1 total points = 16,000
Team2 total points = 15,000

Team1 win's the map.

so we saved our but inmy opinion last night even thugh it clustered :-)

how to keep people from sneeking in
Doing what Deathmagnet suggested would be allowed (thus allowing Split Screen). The other option would be to put a password on the server with 8min and 12max players so no extras can get in. I doubt a clan would try to sneak in 6 or 7 players since it'd be very noticeable.

explanation of PIng issue. we are golden here guys. its not a rule but a match page options post agrement.
If one of the players has an excellent connection that all of the players ping fairly to, both squads may agree to use that host for the duration of the match. The squad that received the challenge or is the higher seed still counts as host whether or not they were the agreed upon host for the purpose of choosing sides (i.e. If Team1 received the challenge but Team2 is the agreed upon host, Team2 still chooses which side to play for the first map).

Re: GGL NOTES and FAQ condensed

Postby twistedblister » Sat May 24, 2008 9:33 am

ok Shorhtand version of 14 pages of rules and disputes and other stuff i have condensed down to the barest understandable unit. please ask about anything you are unsure of before a match goes down no questions are stupid there rules are a pain but we have to make sure we are in 100% compliance.

round two or tier two rules

Tournament game matches during the Stage 2 Brackets will be scheduled as follows. Each match will be assigned a time and date to be completed (“Completion Time”), which will be listed in the tournament brackets at http://warhawk.ggl.com. The two (2) opponents can complete their match at any time up to the Completion Time, or if they can’t agree on a time of their own, the Completion Time becomes the default time at which they must play their match. The squads can negotiate on the match time using the comments section of the “Match Details” page for their particular match at http://warhawk.ggl.com. The Tournament Producer will facilitate scheduling of all game matches as needed. Tournament game matches once scheduled will be FINAL and matches may only be rescheduled or delayed as allowed by the Tournament Producer in its sole discretion.

Final brackets rules modified
We are aware that several teams are unable to play for 1.5 to 2.5 hours a night during the brackets. To address the issue, the bracket format has been modified to the following:

- Same official rules as the ladder
- Matches will be best of 1 map, like the ladder. GGL will choose the maps to be played for each round of the bracket.
- The bracket finals will be the best of 3 maps. Each team will choose a map starting with the host and GGL will choose the 3rd map. Teams may not choose the same map.

that means no potential 3.5 hour games if we make it awesome

my take on this is play and lose but play dont forefit
So again you are better off challanging or acepting a challange and then losing instead of forefiting or staying inacitve.
loss in a game + 20 pts
Forefit - 50 pts
inactivity -100 points and you lose the onse you have so you are reset to 900

Game player count and size are negotiable.
Cannot re-challenge same team within 7 day window
First ladder is all team challenges
Second on is set by GGl
If we get to the second rank we have a deadline game.
Forfeitures players not showing up within 10 minutes of scheduled match count as forfeits.
IF you sign up be prepared to play. Meaning you have to check in once a day just to see if a game is scheduled. We can work out ahead of time what times are good. Since size Is scalable if we have 4 playing in the same time zone they can represent.
Default size is 8 player
Must play at least one match within 7 days
If you don’t play a match within 7 days, you are marked as inactive and you lose 100 points. You will continue to lose 100 points every 7 days that you remain inactive in the ladder. Once inactive, you can re-join the competition, but you will not be given back the points lost while inactive.

Only players registered on the GGL site are allowed to play in matches ( point penalties occour if this Is not adhered to.)
Each participant must have PS Online ID ( I am assuming that is your PS3 gaming ID)
I could not minimize this I just copied the next section
Match Hosting: The host must be agreed upon by all players. You may test all hosts until the best one has been determined. The host must be one of the players participating in the match. If Team1 received the challenge but Team2 is the agreed upon host, Team2 still chooses which side to play for the first map).. Sides: Each team must switch sides at the end of a map. Some games may require the map to be launched again from the lobby. Note that this still counts as a single map of play. The squad who does not host chooses which side they would like to play first.”
Wow we want to see who is has the best stable connection becase of this
“If the host drops, the hosting squad will receive a forfeit for that map.”
They allow for host testing so its negotiable before a match
If we have a match dispute we need to provide proof( my video camera works here)

Disqualifications by breaking these rules short hand pretty standard things we live by so it should be nothing unnatural in our play
• Providing inaccurate or lying about any other aspects of the Tournament (the “Processes”).
• Duplicate registrations and/or other abuse of the Processes.
• USERNAMES otherwise inappropriate.
• Any successful and/or unsuccessful attempt to cheat.
• Any intentional or unintentional disconnecting of an internet connection, power source or other electronic malfunction,

• Any player’s inability, blah blah must accept some challenges if they fit our slot
• The existence determination blah blah blah big boss man the Tournament Producer’s absolute and sole discretion.

BY defalut the challanged team hosts unless they decide just as game starts to let someone with a hight ping host

Server names in Warhawk have to be unique, so if there is another GGL_Match going on it won't even let you (or whomever is hosting) have that as the server name. I've never seen an admin post one way or the other, but I'd just do GGL_Match_XXX_YYY, with XXX and YYY being a simple abbreviation for the team name.

Re: GGL NOTES and FAQ condensed

Postby twistedblister » Tue Aug 26, 2008 8:40 am

NA SA looks like the same rules set as above

Rules - Warhawk Team Open Ladders

Ladder Settings:
- 80 points awarded for a win (regular win or forfeit win)
- 20 points awarded for playing (win or lose)
(i.e. if you play and win you get a total of 100 points (80 + 20), if you play and lose you get 20 points.)
- 25 points LOST if you decline a regular challenge (but there is NO penalty for declining an Instant Challenge)
- 50 points LOST if you forfeit a match
- 3-day “Challenge Active” period – this means that if you receive a challenge, you must respond (either by accepting or proposing alternate times) within 3 days or the challenge is automatically marked as a “Decline” and you lose 25 points.
- If you don’t play a match within 7 days, you are marked as inactive and you lose 100 points. You will continue to lose 100 points every 7 days that you remain inactive in the ladder. Once inactive, you can re-join the competition, but you will not be given back the points lost while inactive.
- You can only challenge a particular squad twice within 7 days.
- You can only challenge other squads within a certain range of your spot in the ladder: either 10 spots up or 5 spots down in the ladder, OR with 20% of your points up the ladder or 10% of your points down in the ladder (in other words if you have 1000 points you can challenge squads up to 1200 points or down to 900 points).

Game Settings & Specifications:
Settings: Any setting not listed below should be left at default
Server Options
Name: GGL Match
Password: None
Type: Player Clan
Eucadian/Chernovan Clans: The team not hosting chooses the side they would like. Please post this in the match comments prior to the start of the match.
Max/Min players: Minimum 8, Maximum 16

Match Rounds: 1

Map Selection: During the Ladder, the GGL Competition system will randomly assign maps from the Map Pool below to each officially scheduled match. Maps will be posted on the “Match Details” page for each match.

Map Pool:
Archipelago (Acropolis Assault)
Archipelago (Southern Islands)
Badlands (Skirmish)
Destroyed Capitol (King of the Hill)
Eucadia (Valley Battle)
Eucadia (High vs Low)
Island Outpost (Installation)
Island Outpost (Over The Bridges)
Island Outpost (Bridge Out)

Match Scheduling: Competitors schedule matches themselves through GGL’s ladder challenge tools. First, one squad challenges another squad in the ladder, proposing three dates/times for the match. The squad that receives the challenge then has the option of either accepting one of the proposed times, in which case the match is officially scheduled, or responding with three alternate times. If the original challenger does not agree to any of the alternate times, they may drop the challenge with no penalty, but if they accept one of the alternate times then the match is officially scheduled. “Instant Challenges” may be issued or declined with no penalty. Matches once scheduled can not be altered without the agreement of both squads. Failure to show up to compete within 10 minutes of a scheduled match time will result in a forfeit loss (with point penalty) for the squad that does not show up, and a forfeit win for the squad that does. Declining a challenge without proposing alternate times will also result in a point penalty. Squads can challenge and play as often as they wish, within the guidelines of the ladder rules.

The official time zone for the tournament will be Eastern Standard Time. *** NOTE – once a player is logged in, all times on the website appear in that player’s native time zone, chosen during the registration process. It is important that each player make sure he/she has set the correct time zone – players can edit their time zone through the “Edit Account” link.

Match Squad Size: The two squads can agree on any squad size before the match begins (the squads can negotiate the squad size using the comments section of the “Match Details” page for their particular match). If the two squads can not agree on a squad size, the default squad size is 8v8.

Substitutions/Alternates/Ringers: Once a match begins, no substitutions are allowed. (Note: Once the first map is launched, that is considered the start of the match.) If a player(s) needs to be replaced due to console failure, hospitalization, or another serious incident occurs rendering a player (or players) unable to play, contact an admin to have that player replaced with another player on your Squad Roster. Only players on your Squad Roster on the GGL.com site are permitted to participate in a match in this competition. If an illegal player is used, an Administrator must be notified before the start of the match or else there will be no penalty for the duration of the match.

Match Format: All matches will be a single map only. In the event a map ends in a tie, restart the same map with the same settings and continue to replay the map until a winner is determined. A single map will count as each team playing on both sides.

PS Online ID: You MUST use a valid PS Online ID (NO GUEST ACCOUNTS), and you must include your PS Online ID in your GGL profile. DO NOT change your PS Online ID during the ladder. If you change your PS Online ID without permission from a Tournament Administrator, you may be suspended or banned from the ladder.

Match Hosting: The host must be agreed upon by all players. You may test all hosts until the best one has been determined. The host must be one of the players participating in the match. Default rule: The squad who received the challenge will host the match. Optional rule: If one of the players has an excellent connection that all of the players ping fairly to, both squads may agree to use that host for the duration of the match.

Sides: Each team must switch sides at the end of a map. Some games may require the map to be launched again from the lobby. Note that this still counts as a single map of play. The squad who does not host chooses which side they would like to play first.

Match Interruption: If any player loses his/her connection before the map starts (during map load time for example) or before any scores are recorded (kills, captures, tickets, etc.), restart the map once the player has rejoined the game lobby or a substitute from the squad’s official roster has joined. If a player loses his/her connection mid game, continue playing as normal. If the host drops, the hosting squad will receive a forfeit for that map.

Lag Test Round and Internet Issues: Due to the unpredictable nature of the Internet, it is highly recommended that teams mix players (i.e. In a 4v4, 2 members from each team per side) so they can communicate about the connection and start a test game for about two full minutes to test the host’s connection and make sure the game settings are correct (spawn times, capture points, etc.). If a host is unacceptable, continue testing connections until one can be found. Once the official match has started, any lag issues that arise are to be considered out of players control and the match should continue as normal.

Glitches/Exploits: Players are forbidden from using any game or hardware glitches or exploits to gain or attempt to gain an advantage. If an area within the game is accessible due to an exploit or bug in the map, then that location is off limits. If a player uses such an area to hide, the game Admin may incur a suitable penalty which may include a forfeit of the match or a disqualification from the tournament. If you are unsure whether an area is considered off limits, ask an Admin before your match. Use of any glitch or exploit will result in a forfeit loss and potential suspension or banning (for the player and/or the entire squad) from the competition, at the Tournament Admin’s discretion.
