Life after the PS3 Network drops our game?

I think this is a company offering pay for hosting of warhawk servers. I am curious to see how they got the set up. I mean as long as we can connect to each other with a live broadband connnection we would not need this. am i missing somthing?

I think they are talking about if sony drops the officals. but maybe i read it wrong.

Oh i would just play player ranked servers problem solved at no extra charge.

That is what i can stilll not figure out. will the servers go down at some point disabling warhawk or since we can already host games play so indeffinitely as long as our PS3 holds out?

No developer can shut down the online completely even so they aren't that stupid. Because you can't take away from what your costumer purchased. Which in warhawks case is the whole game. So they will probably cut down on sony servers massivly where there aren't many left but we will still be able to host and stuff.

Would we still be able to host WAN online games if all there servers went down ? that is what has me puzzeled. if its just TCP/IP then we dont need thier servers but it would just be a tiny bit more complicated to establish a connection i think. some one might need to write a VP dial up tool maybe? that is getting deeper into networking then i really know. i can ask a bud. matter of fact i will and get his oppinion.

They are shutting down dedicated sony servers they aren't shutting the system down if you shut a server down does it shut the whole thing down no they would need to send a patch to shut WAN down i think and even then i don't think they would do that we basically paid 40-60 bux for WAN if they take it away the would have many upset costumers that wouldn't buy their products.

where my understanding falters is are we connecting through a dedicated tunnel to begin with or just logging the warhawk menu onto the web. if we are launching directly to the web and the PS3's are just searching for each other with the same game then we wont have points any more at some point but we will still be able to paly. I am saying that becase the stats are saved on a network database and as such when it dies your stats go. sothat sucks but at that time we might be able to hack the game to store our own stats.

Nooo maybe yes....... i am ranked 10002 maybe lower now my goal is to get under rank 6000. At the begining of the summer i was like 24000 in rank. I play a lot now i am now only 9500 away from my next rank i am working hard to reach commander by summers end which is 70,000pts i have everything required but just need the pts.
