Re: Friday 30th
MAG shouldn't really be compared to Socom, they are very little alike. I prefer MAG and BFBC2 to MW2 and here's why.
1 MAG = giant maps and 256 players, something no other console FPS has come close to.
2 BFBC2 has vehicles and destructible environments.
While MW2 will no doubt be good I have a feeling it'll be exactly like COD4/ WAW. That's my main problem with the series they don't try to innovate much. BFBC2 is taking the destructible environments to the next level as well as altering some other gameplay aspects IIRC. MW2 just seems like COD4 with different guns/perks, maybe once I get the game in Tuesday I'll change my mind, but I'm not seeing it right now. This is one of the reasons I don't like GTA anymore, it's the same game over and over again.

Fish likes a good debate.
I might as well throw my two cents in.
MAG and Modern warfare are both going too be great games for very different reasons. You can't please everyone and im sure people will find fault with both games. Im glad you have a choice in what kind of game you want. MAG will offer a new online mutiplayer experience while modern warfare will improve on its already well established system.
If your arguing which one is better then it really come down to your own opinion of what you like.

Re: Friday 30th
BFBC2 taking the destructible environment aspect of the game to the next level is the same exact thing as MW2 taking perks and customization to the the next level....if i pick up BFBC and then play BFBC2 im pretty sure itll be more of the same to me...just better...same thing as MW2...but at least...in both games although a lot would be similar since its a FRANCHISE ill still be able to tell and appreciate what they did differently...like in MW2...theres a lot of new stuff that actually makes the gameplay much better and even a bit more balanced than the original MW so its unfair to call it the same thing cause then every single zelda game is the same thing except theres a new gadget...every single mario game is the exact same thing except a new world to explore and every single final fantasy is the exact same thing just a brand new cast of characters and a new level up system...i bet i can guess what BFBC3 is gonna have....a lot more destructible envirorments and vehicles....what is the next call of duty gonna have...a lot more perks and killstreak rewards and even more new game modes....if it isnt broke...it doznt need to be fixed...remember..theres a reason why call of duty is the king of fps games this generation and why everything else gets compared to it in reviews...its simply just that damn good

Other games are compared to it because it sells well.
Don't get me wrong I concede to some of what you are saying. Some of your points are correct, however there are some problems there.
Mario half the games are 2d the rest are 3d. The levels in platformers make the game. Are you really gonna look at SMW, SM64 and SMG and say they are the same game? Ha, give me a break.
Zelda once again 2d and 3d elements. OoT and Majora's mask the first two 3d games are quite different. While I'll agree that Twilight Princess while good could of innovated more, there's very little you can say about the rest.
Final Fantasy I'll agree did get pretty stale for a while. FF 12 however did completely change the battle system and kept the system of moving around the world that X had. Beyond that it focuses on story like any RPG.
FPS are a different beast in the argument as there are so many out there. I really liked the fact that KZ2 allowed the ability to have the match switch mode mid match, it's something you don't often see and was a good twist. Sure the modes are similar to modes in the other games, but to switch dynamically like it did changed the game up.
BFBC had a decent bit of destructible environments, but not completely destructible, this time around pretty much everything is destructible and more dynamic (at least it seems that way from trailers). Also looks like they gave the graphics an overhaul as well, which while MW2 does I think it's more noticeable in BFBC2. Thing is there's been 1 BFBC and 2 call of duty's, some of the stuff they are doing in MW2 should of been done at least partially in WAW.
Been watching some MW2 videos and I agree they did make some much needed changes like the host migration thing (that's one thing I hated about COD4 and 5), the upgraded perks are a nice touch, the biggest difference I can see so far however is the killstreak customization. Very nice touch again, but beyond that it just seems like the same game as COD4/ WAW (without some type of zombie mode which was a lot of fun). Maybe the maps will add in enough difference that it will bring me around, won't know til Tuesday. It activision wasn't trying to milk COD for so much I think I would have a much more positive outlook on this game, but they do milk it any way they can.

I agree wiht you both. i think the facotory was way to huge for the amount of peopel who could play it but some of the small DM's for 8 people still whip butt.
