Ya I have been lucky to not get the red rings of death yet but all my friends who have a 360 have gotten them. Microsoft really should have fixed that problem before release.

I thinnk mine is the 4th replacemen. man it will make you think twice about warranty payment.
first one right back to best buy
second one lasted a long time it went to MS repairs
Third came from MS with slight loseness in the shell and older MNFRdate then the one i had returned. it was not reliable so i returned it
on my 4th one

some quick advice from the experianced. check on box or tell vendor you want to know the manufacturing date of the unit. Theere should be a slot in the box where you can see this. If it is later then 1-1-2008 you should not have any problems. this was the cutoff date from the old hardware and cooling design. it also has a slightly faster GPU / CPU pretty much the same as the old one but slightly differnt. Make sure to fill out the warranty card and ( the warranty is good for 90 days but my be for up to a year) you may want to serriously consider taking the extended warranty on this unit. after going through 4 i have to say be careful here. also most games are crossplatform and only a limited few are MS 360 only. make sure you are making the choice becase you love that game so much. PS it will cost you 89.somthing a year for online service IE gaming with other people. not my favorite aspect of the system.

If you buy a years worth of online at once its only $60. Thats just $5 a month so it doesn't bother me too much.

It should but microsoft is too selfish and greedy so they just want more money. People will buy online and they know it. I mean I would pay for online on my ps3 but its free which is nice.
