???DS = Worthy Buy???

Sorry you guys but DS is awesome. The Phoenix Wright/ Apollo Justice series alone makes a DS worth a purchase imo. And I've played both systems. FF III is already out of DS, FF IV is coming out. Jump Ultimate Stars is a cool fighter. Also as the system comes along games are coming out to better utilize the touch screen. Look at the World Ends with you, it's an awesome game. Ninja Gaiden just came out on it and was received well from what I recall. Also it's outselling the PSP overall like crazy. Not saying the PSP is a bad system, but when DS sales numbers are going up as high as they are, people should at least take a look ati it.

There are a couple of other good RPGs on the system as well. Plus a few well scored FPS. Then you've got the odd stuff like EBA/ Ouendan and Band Bros./ Jam with the Band. Honestly for a long time all PSP had was what looked to me like ported PS2 games, but now it's not nearly as bad.

The Legend of Zelda on DS is another fun game. If you want some old school platforming you've got New Super Mario Bros. There are several very good puzzle games if that's your thing as well.

Those are the major ones i want it for. But i am a bit short of 130 bux and i will prolly wait for the next handheld that nitnendo releases because i want LBP, MGS4, COD5 and some other games. so that would be 310 bucks. I just don't have that much money.

Well as good as those arguments are, I don't trust a lot of them. Mainly the sales one. If you took away the people 8 and under who buy it for pokemon then the ds's sales would plummit. Also I have played a few fps games on my cousins ds (who is 9 and bought it for pokemon) and they were alright but the psp beats it in that section. Its not that I don't like the ds as a console its just that it hasn't satisfied me with any good games yet. One game is coming out for it and that one game could change my opinion of the console completely. That game is FFTA2.

Everyone says pokemon sucks and all this crap. While the fact is if you can get past the cuteness and admittedly bland story, you can find a deep, long RPG. The addition of online play doesn't hurt either. And the DS was wiping the floor with PSP long before Pokemon came out, also that was one of the weaker arguments I made. You can't find Phoenix Wright anywhere else. Oh and the game was Hotel Dusk I was thinking about.

But believe me, I had a GC and PS2 in my room, but yet I stayed up til 1 in the morning playing phoenix wright.

Personally I feel that the GC was nintendos only real mistakes, I may not be a fan but all there other systems sell and get good reviews. The GC on the other hand wasn't worth anything, you can buy them for $10 now.

i wish i got to this sooner, yes on one condition. you buy an R4 or a TTDS chip. my fieend bought one it vietnam with a 4m gb micro sd card. and he has about 50 games on it he didnt pay for. plus it has inbuilt gameshark-esque cheats. i think you can pick up a TTDS chip for about 40 (australian) dollars with a 1 GB micro SD card. there are a lot of good (not worth buying) games on the DS that you can get easily with a TTDS. plus it allows you to run homebrew.

Plug it into your system select the game you want to cheat on click the cheat take it out and in 1 to 2 months you will be sending your system back to sony or nintendo or microsoft

only on some cheats. there are many cheats (like huge char models super fast running etc.) that are detrimental to the programs effieceincy or cause the cpu to overclock. many of them are safe. and hey. just buy a TTDS and don't use the cheats. in australia. its cheaper to buy a TTDS chip than to buy a DS game. and when DS games are max 128 MB. why not. I'm with you on the whole should i buy a DS thing. im leaning towards yes. love sonic rush, cooking mama ^^, electroplankton and countless other quirky titles like elite beat agents. i'm thinking and im liking.

Sorry I can't agree with doing that. If I want to play a game I will at least rent it via Gamefly. I don't like to cheat dev's out of money when they worked hard on a game.

im fine with that if they charged me the price i'm supposed to pay. 50 dollars for cooking mama isnt worth it. are they trying to bankrupt australia? 120 bucks for gta 4?. they charged us 50 for GBA games in 2006. the austrailian dollar is currently at about 97 cents to the US dollar. why do i pay twice for games?
