So...apparently...MM is gonna be looking at the popular levels that people make, and possibly paying them to make levels for LBP2/An expansion that adds more levels, basicly hiring their consumers as level designers. wouldn't that be fun!

wow yeah. that is cool.

i rember half life did this and i forget the team that got hired but i think it turned into the counter strike series.

It will take a lot fo work to be up to their standards though.

I've seen some of the bigger more advanced levels.. they are EXTREME
If I could get this feeling to end, with trembling idle hands holding me there.

yeah it takes a great deal of effort and creativity but i like the awareness that some people cant afford dev kits and would love the oportunity to do this.

the competition will be intense.

Besides not being able to afford the dev kit, you still need to be licensed. I would LOVE to get a debug kit (a way simplified dev kit, and $1200 instead of like $8000), but I doubt they license individuals.....

I'll have to start a fake game company, based at my home address, using my cell phone number...get licensed, get my debug unit, and forgot that I did that.

I would, but if I get licensed what am I gonna do? I don't have the money for a debug unit, don't have a job (too young) to get the money...pretty pointless. But I might do it anyway.

I don't have to submit information on games I'm supposedly planning to make! This'll be easier than I thought.

SCEE however provides contradicting information.

1. Developer Registration
First of all, we will check the details you have supplied to us in your new Licensee Application. Once these are verified we will need to issue you with Confidentiality & Non Disclosure Agreement. Both copies should be signed and returned to SCEE, who would sign both and return a copy for your files and keep a copy for our files.
2. Concept Appraisal
We will then ask you to supply us with concept documentation for the game you intend to create. We will pass this to our evaluators who will evaluate it against pre-set criteria. Providing your concept/design satisfy these criteria and there is a clear business opportunity for both parties, we would then move to the next phase of the process.
3. Further Appraisal
Providing your concept document passes our evaluation procedure, we will need to see and approve executable code at various predefined stages before we can issue your final Licensed Developer Agreement.


I hope that SCEE simply has seperate rules to licensing developers...

I actally sent em an email. They ignored everything in it about it being just me, no company, and sent a form letter back saying to respond with my company's info. GOD!
