Reminds me of Bulb's cover of the Final fantasy 7 prelude, which brings me to Periphery, This song has officially the most insane riff ever created

coool thanks tt. i will check it out

i got my CD today and am listening to it now. man all i can say is if you like metal guitar and vidoegame anthems this dude rocks it in a epic maner. i ll post my full thoughts when i am done listening but man if he keeps the pace up i will be gushing praise.

EDIT post listen

ok i really really enjoyed this CD. i enjoyed the FF music alot more then i though I would. i dont think there is really a missfire on this collection of songs. if anyone is intrested i could go into more detail but simply put
if you like heavy rocking interpritations of video games then this is a must have or download for you.

EDIT

pretty cool TT. i dont dig the voice synth though in Death Metal. whats funny to me is that guy has a pretty good range in his voice. i never did get that. stil i liked gwar and saw them at least 7 to 9 times in my life. ha.
Dan tid dudes own stuff has some DM synth to it. which bums me out becase i think the guy has awesome techniqe and talaent but that roaring daeth synth just kills a song for me.

You've been to a Gwar concert :shck: I'm so jealous!

I can understand the negative love of "metal singing", but there is plenty of metal with normal singers :)

Except this guy is kind of abnormal :laugh2:

Outworld have overall probably the most technically talented guitarist of all time, rusty cooley
That's his birthname by the way, officially the coolest name ever.

Check out his betcha can't play this

that is a nice lick.

i understand the dudes isssue with hard to get at upper frets. the body does get in the way making reaching them a bastardo. 7 strings wow. so i am on the short bus with my six string fender :-(

EDIT
the outland song is impressive i dont know if its somthing i really love though. the guitarist reminded me of YM

very cheesy but this is what i was rocking to growing up. among other bands

Well strats don't have the greatest upper fret access, but with 22 frets it's not so much a problem as on other guitars, I detest Les pauls mostly for this reason actually (and i hate the neck)

my brother actually has a 7 string guitar, and my friend has an 8 :) they are amazingly different to play compared to a normal guitar, the scale length is 27", so the frets are huge,it takes a hell of a lot more prowess to keep all the strings nicely muted, and bending notes is stiffer :bng:.

that being said, the low B is awesome fun :yeh: and my friend detunes the low F# on his 8 down to a bass guitar E, an octave below a normal guitar e :shck:

I love malmsteen to bits, Fav song [youtube]6ISosUk4rdI[youtube]

cool post tt.

I dont mess with tuning up or down. i understnad it and i hear it in songs but i am strugling to get my technique down. baby steps.

i would counter your Les paul with a gibson having on of the worst uper neck reaches but i have never held a les paul so i cant say with athority.

i love my fender but i have trouble getting my hand up near the top of the neck. it has a fairly open cutaway that visably looks like i get a long reach but i strugle going up top.

would not trade it for anything though.

The upper fret issues are just unavoidable pitfalls of the bolt on design, but i totally understand your attachment to stratocasters, it's the guitar no one hates :D even my 8 string owning metalhead friend is looking for just a plain vanilla strat, because it's a universally useful guitar.

the thing that originally flipped me onto loving them was the comfortably numb solo's, which i believe has the best tone of any solo ever, it's a fairly easy solo to play, but there's so much feel to them that isn't easy to replicate

But in regard to the fret issue's, there are a few small custom guitar companies who are actually quite affordable, Roter guitars in particular could probably make you a good neck through strat for just over 1K, which is superb value considering their craftsmanship.

With that being said, i'm not going for a strat first up...going for this :a: :be:

check it out, neck through and huge cutaways, no fret problems there :yeh:

i'm definitely buying a strat after this one, no question, rondo actually also do a Strat ripoff with superb features for the price. http://www.rondomusic.com/st1000whiteduncanstk.html

bridge and tuners are made in the UK wilkinsons and it even has seymour duncan P-ups.
:yeh:

Hot damn, those are nice acoustics, Koa backs on some and everything :shck: and i especially love the fretted/fretless model, browns guitar factory actually make an amazing fretted/less bass with a kahler trem as well.

this guy get's really into it :yeh:

here we go, guitar rig 4 is a plug in for audio recording applications, but can also run as a standalone application as well.
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... rig-4-pro/
So running that inside Reaper here.
http://www.cockos.com/reaper/

allows you to record guitar in studio sort of quality pretty easily :)

I'm happy with guitar rig 4, because it doesn't quite sound as good as amplitube, it has an interface well modelled around running on a computer. instead of pretending to be hardware.

Also the effects like the wah and general (not metal) tone are a bit better on guitar rig.

here we go, this is made by line 6 (who invented amp modelling). it allows you to record guitar and such, and it comes with pod farm. which is basically a software line6 pod. i'd be using that but i can't pirate it
