no this guy just loves cameras and guns. and i would go to him for any advice on either.

I'd like to stay under $300, but would go up to $350 if I had to.

I got my wife the Olympus FE-340. The main reason for that is, there is no delay when the shutter button is pressed. Her previous camera, a 4 MP Nikon, had about a half second delay and caused which caused lots of blurred shots because of camera movement.

The Olympus is an 8MP with all of the features of the other cameras, different modes including video.

I am a Nikon shooter and have the D300 now, and wanted to stick with Nikon, but had to surrender to the other brand.

I bought the Olympus last spring and by now other cameras may have instant shooting capability.

Head over to Best Buy and put your hands on different cameras and ask questions. Try out the features you want…and don’t forget to get the color she wants also!!!
