its really funny Maher ambushes people consistantly in this. the dope head in amsterdam is the most brutal. yeah there is a dope head dude trying to start a weed religon. that was hysterical.

ok its pretty biased against religon so dont go checking this out if you are expecting an even handed disscussion.

I have a book called religous literacy. that is supposed to be rock solid but i have not cracked the cover yet. still diging on Remarkable Creatures.

Yeah i read a lot of fiction but this is an amazing book. i created a individual thread just becase i was so wow'ed by it.

yeah its on PSN but i did not realize you could rent from there cool. Its very cool and informative and funny. but very very biased. that said i like this movie alot.

well there is not a lot that will improve the skeptics position or backround knowaldge although i did not know the mesiah mytholgoy palyed out in so many other religions so closely. that was cool.

yeah it wont rock anyones world but i dug it. there is a pretty good penn and teller bullshit episode on religion that is worth watching. i forget what season they did theres.

I rented it off psn awhile ago. I have to say i agree with most of it. people believe in the weirdest stuff. scientolgey and mormons are way out their. people create religion to fill a void weather it be just to make sense of things or just to have someone or something looking after them. they've even use religion to justify bigotry, sexism, and even mass murder.
I don't mean to say theirs no god. their might be a higher being that created everything. but to say we know what it wants or to do things in its name is just dumb. Thats just my opinion .

I dont have a problem with religon but just extremeisam of any form i guess. as long as you dont restrict me in what i want to do go ahead and belive in whatever makes your life bareable.

I am not disagreing gabe. it can foster intollerance but at the same time it can be a froce for humane acts. its the people individually not the clubs on the whole.

i was watching a re run of a George carlin concert the other night.

his joke was all religons should have one rule

I agree that religions help people make some good and selfless acts. Thats the great part they encourage people to good things and help others.
I have a problem when they teach one thing and do another or like you said have odd rules.

I was watching a rcent George Carlin special he must have died right after it he looked awful. but he had one or two funny moments.

george carlin he's a smart guys comic. i mean he talks about serious things in a very intelligent way. I may not like everything he says but theirs truth in it. I just watch a vid of him on you tube talking about how people try to save everything inculding the planet. but its just an arrogant thing to say that were a threat. Very funny.
