Freaking amazing. biography of living and dead naturalist/ paleo/ bio/ geolo/ multi dicipline book on many aspects of science and what some of the landmark moments in the scientists lives ( living and dead were / are )

really really impressive. puts you in the moment when the author uses passages from the acuatal scientists journals from the 1800's disease drowning devoured. yeah it was all aobut risking your life to discover and explore.

it begins with Humboldt and thorugh darwin wallace and so on into the present day. i am about half way through. really amzing book on the natural scinces and the scientists involved. its not an exhaustive through examination but the recomending reading list and refernce section is like 30 some odd pages. ahh yeah this guy did some reseach and makes some a powerful recomeded reading list.

do your self a favor and go to the library or pick up a copy. its very good.
