Victim Lost Nose, Eyes, Jaw In Chimp Attack
(Stamford, CT) -- The victim of this week's attack by a 200-pound chimpanzee lost her nose, eyes and jaw in the attack.
The New York "Daily News" quotes family members as saying a team of doctors worked feverishly to save the life of 55-year-old Charla Nash.
Her twin brother, Mike Nash, says four teams of specialists performed more than seven hours of surgery on his sister.
He says the team of doctors and staff at Stamford Hospital battled around the clock to stabilize Charla, who is still listed in critical but stable condition.
Doctors say her vital signs are improving.
The woman was left near dead when her close friend's 200-pound ape, named Travis, brutally mauled her after escaping from his home.
Travis' owner, Sandy Herold, used a butcher knife to stab the 14-year-old chimp but the rampage ended only after police shot the animal dead.

some things are just not good pet ideas.

when i was a kid my dad knew a guy who had a orangatang but he had to put it down becase it became viloent. sad but my memories of it are kind of like any which way but lose. the guy had an old pick up wiht a cage on the back the tang rode around with him in.
